Reds host Montgomery College this Saturday
This Saturday the Reds host Motgomery College at Colmar Manor. The car pool from the parking lot of the First Baptist Church at 17th and O Sts NW leaves at 11:00 a.m. All Reds need to be at the pitch by Noon. Kickoff is at 1 p.m. Social is at Duffy's after the match.
Blues and Reds Split at Frederick
On Saturday May 12, the Renegades traveled to Div. II Frederick for two matches. The Blues won 22-12 while the Reds lost 21-15.
Blues Take 3rd in MARFU
The Blues ended their 2012 USA Rugby playoff run finishing third in the Mid Atlantic governing area (MARFU); the final 32 for USA Rugby. The Blues lost to Virginia RFC in the semi-final on Saturday 33-26, but rallied on Sunday morning to take third in the Mid Atlantic by beating final four hosts North Penn, 46-24. The Blues and Reds will continue the spring season with final preparations for the 2012 Bingham Cup in Manchester, England.
Reds Fall at Celtic Fest
The Reds had a tough but educational day at Celtic Fest. Playing against mostly first teams from our matrix opponents the Reds finished with one draw and three losses.
Blues win Quarterfinal at Newport News
The Blues won their MARFU quarterfinal 46-5 at Newport News.
Reds Go Back-to-Back
The Reds went back-to-back on Saturday beating American Univeristy 17-0 and the Philly Gryphons 36-0.
Blues Fall at Rocky Gorge
The Blues stepped up in weight class and played at the PRU Division II champions Rocky Gorge and lost in a good match 38-18.
Reds Draw with Roosters
The Reds drew with the Alexandria Roosters 15-15.
Blues fall at VRFC
The Blues lost a tough one to VRU champions Virginia RFC on their home patch, 12-7. Hopefully, we can see them again at the MARFU playoffs.
Reds lose to Poltroons
The Reds lost a tough one to the Poltroons Old Boys, 0-3.
Blues win at Harrisburg
The Blues had a great day out in Harrisburg, going 5-1 to compile the best record for the day. We got a chance to see some new Blue squad members perform and they were fantastic. Job well done.
Blues Win Gray Ghost Tournament
The Blues got the season off to a good start by winning the Gray Ghost Tournament at North Bay. On the way to collecting the trophy, the Blues beat North Bay 7-5, Lockport 35-0 and Pax River 26-0 before beating Div. I Washington 17-5 in the final. The Reds had a good day out beating North Bay B 3-0 before losing to Quantico A 7-3 and Div. I Washington 24-0.
Spring Practice
Spring practice is every Tuesday and Thursday at 6:45 p.m. at Cardozo High School. The nearest Metro is the U St./Cardozo/African-American Civil War Memorial station (Green Line). Entrance to the field is at 11th and Florida.
